Today is French National Day so I thought I would show our appreciation for all things French beauty. Their skincare is second to none and some of these brands have literally changed my life, well skin to be precise, and am a true believer in the effectiveness of French skincare. I’m currently using these French fancies in my routine and by far my favourite skincare products and brands…
Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel, £11 for 200ml available at Boots – The Normaderm range as a whole is a complete skincare regime for imperfection prone skin and I promise, for you combination skin types this works! If there was one staple product I had to choose it would be the Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel. This has been a lifesaver for me, clearing up those pesky blemishes and I have recommended this to a few friends with similar skin types who have also seen great results. I do accompany this with the Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care which I have to give a shout out too, because combination skin also need some moisture and this is a great formulation to cover all those bases. This range features glycolic and salicylic acid ingredients combined with mineral rich thermal spa water. This stuff just works, simple as!
Bioderma Hydrabio H2O, £10.50 for 250ml available at Boots – I’ve used all of the Bioderma micellar waters – pink (Sensibio / for sensitive skin) green (Sebium / for oily/combination skin) and blue (Hydrabio / for sensitive/dehydrated skin). I have settled on using Hydrabio in the morning to cleanse my skin with cotton pads rather than a foaming cleanser and water. I like the idea of this locking in moisture of the morning but providing a simple cleanse. It’s suitable for evening cleanses too in order to remove make up and is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. I also have a small bottle of Sensibio for touching up make-up bodges and the 100ml size is a great travel essential.
Caudalie Grape Water, £10 for 200ml available at Space NK – I don’t make a big thing of toning to be honest but since doing a skincare and facial massage course it’s been drilled into me of its benefits. When I do remember to include it in my routine at home I like Caudalie’s Grape water which tones and moisturises the skin. I also love how this product is a constant spray motion – simple things but great for functionality. I’m most likely to use this product to refresh the skin during the day, especially in this indecisive weather we’re experiencing at the moment, and I have a second bottle on my desk for a quick pick me up spritz and refresh make-up.
Happy French National Day!
